Gareth Pugh

From the age of 14 Gareth Pugh began working as a costume designer for the English National youth Theatre. He then grew his talent into more when he finished his fashion degree in 2003. He then went onto intern with Rick Owens in Paris which was a great opportunity for him. His final collection at St. Martins which he used balloons to accentuate the models' joints and limbs. This technique would soon become one of his trademarks. This attracted the attention to senior fashion editor of 'Dazed and Confused' magazine who placed one of Pugh's designs as cover image shortly after.

I really like Gareth Pugh's style of designing as they are all really in your face designs. The bold black shapes against the silver on the outfits create great shape to the model making the eye work on all areas of the clothing.

This collection has given me a lot of inspiration for my styling in one of my shoots as I want to keep the image looking sleek and mysterious.
